HYDRO-FIT Cuffs enhance the natural buoyancy and resistance of water, giving you more training benefits and making the most out of the time you spend in the water. They’re the hardest working gear we make. Versatile and durable—use them on your ankles, around your waist, on your arms or around your wrists. Cuffs do it all, in both deep and shallow water.
Our Classic Cuffs feature a quick-release buckle closure for an extra firm fit. Classic Cuffs are the preferred choice if you work out aggressively in the water. When worn as a belt, Cuffs will fit up to a 54" waist. Available in Blue/Black color combination. Sold in pairs. Proudly Made In the USA.
Water exercise is all about moving more water and creating more resistance—an irresistible combination for a great workout. Get more from your workouts with the most versatile water exercise products we make! HYDRO-FIT Cuffs and Mini Cuffs adapt to a wide range of water workouts—from shallow to deep water, from very intense to more moderate and relaxed—and function as four different pieces of water exercise equipment, all in one!
Ankle Cuffs: Underwater, Cuffs works like ankle weights on land, toning and strengthening all the major muscles in your lower body. Watch our fitting video for securing your Cuffs on your ankles.
Buoyancy Belt: Fasten your Cuffs together to create a comfortable and secure buoyancy belt for deep water exercise and water running. The Cuffs segmented design distributes buoyancy evenly around your torso and fits waists up to 54".
Wrist Cuffs: On your wrists, Cuffs provide the resistance and buoyancy of buoyant barbells to tone and strengthen all the major muscles in your upper body. Our Cuffs hold onto you, you don’t have to hold onto them—less grip, more stability, and secure comfort.
Arm Cuffs: Around your upper arms, Cuffs give you buoyant support in deep or shallow water. Ideal for abdominal toning exercises and deep water activities where a buoyancy belt is not suitable.
“Classic” refers to the quick-release buckle closure system on your Cuffs, the original closure on our patented Cuffs (U.S. Patent No. 4, 858,913). Here’s how to put your Classic Cuffs on your ankles, only one of four positions Cuffs can be worn. Ankle placement is suitable for both shallow and deep water.
Step 1: Fold your Cuff into a triangle as you place the stirrup strap below the arch of your foot. Position your Cuff with the quick-release buckle facing the outside of your foot and the stirrup strap resting loosely below the arch of your foot. Fasten the quick-release buckle.
Step 2: Stabilize the Cuff by pinching it closed with one hand. With your other hand, tighten the large strap by pulling it across and in front of the Cuff. The direction of pull is very important. If you tighten your Cuffs while in the water, pull the large strap across, not up. Pulling up on the strap will actually loosen your Cuff. Tuck the strap end over and behind the secured strap.
Step 3: Adjust the stirrup strap by pulling down on the loose end of the strap. Secure in place by fastening the Velcro-like closure to the strap and sliding the stirrup strap “stay” to secure the strap’s position.
Avoid positioning your Cuff too low on your leg. Correct positioning allows your ankle to move freely without your Cuff touching the top of your foot.
To remove your Classic Cuffs, simply release the quick-release buckle. Be sure you’re in a stable environment when you put on and take off your Cuffs.
Simulating the exercise action of crosscountry skiing in the deep water is an excellent form of non-impact aerobic exercise. In this version sweep your arms forward and back to recruit more muscles and strengthen your core.

I initially bought the Mini Cuffs and used them for about a month water running. Now I bought and use the Classic Cuffs and notice the leg resistance difference. When I used the mittens on both hands, the MIni Cuffs on each wrist and the Classic Cuffs on my ankles I had too much flotation. Now is use the mitts on my hands, Classic Cuffs with Comfort Cuffs on my ankles and the Wet Vest.

Great for improving leg workout in water exercise class. Only complaint is that the corners of the cuffs tend to become frayed and open up after about a year of twice weekly hard use.

I used these in a swim class, and Hydrofit is the only place that still
carry them. I got them quickly, and am enjoying having my own pair to work out in.

I do Water Aerobics in Carpinteria, California & love having my own cuffs as the ones the pool offers are very tired. My new cuffs fit beautifully with the adjustments
My only sadness is the metal piece on the velcro strap hurts the bottom my feet.

I love using the cuffs on my ankles for a great lower body and core workout. I have also used them in the past when providing personal training to a client in the water.
I just bought 2 new pairs so that over the holidays, my family members and I can do a "race" in the water and we are also going to try volleyball in the pool using them where the pool gets too deep to stand. ;)

Have used these cuffs for years in aquatic therapy, bought a new pair for a family member. They last for years even when used 3 to 5 times a week in the pool. In addition to being used as buoyant ankle cuffs, they can be opened flat and clipped together to make a buoyant waist belt.
