Starting Position

From a vertical position in deep water alternately lift each knee as the other leg extends straight down performing a jogging in-place or marching motion. Maintain hip flexion to just below 90°.

Exercise Action

This is primarily a Warm Up exercise or return to “center” for active rest and recovery between interval training sets.

As you knee-high jog in a stationary position in deep water extend both arms comfortably out at the water’s surface holding your Hand Buoys with a light grip. Shoulders should be relaxed with elbows slightly bent.

Training Tips

  • Maintain a light grip on Hand Buoys
  • Keep shoulders relaxed and elbows slightly bent
  • Maintain a level chin, level ribs and level pelvis
