HYDRO-FIT Academy Training Weekend
September 25 & 26, 2010

Tuition & Fees
Academy tuition for the Full Weekend (16.0 CECs) is $325. For a Single Day (8.0 CECs) tuition is $200. Individual Workshops (2.0 CECs) are $45. Tuition includes all workshops, lectures, practical classes and course materials. In addition, your Full Weekend and Single Day tuition includes a nutritious lunch each day and healthful snacks throughout the day.

Single Workshop (2.0 AEA CECs) - $45.00
 
BONUS
If you have attended a previous HYDRO-FIT Academy, you can take $50.00 off the Full Weekend
or $25.00 off a Single Day Tuition. If you qualify for one of these discounts, please mention your request in the comments field during checkout. Your discount will be applied after verification is made.

SATURDAY – Deep Water

Deep Science with Craig Stuart
Learn how to successfully orient your students to the deep water environment. Review the scientific principles of deep water training and understand the differences between gravity assisted/resisted exercise and gravity-neutral exercise. Examine equipment options and learn techniques for developing postural awareness, core strength, balance and coordination in the buoyant environment. 2.0 CECs

Deep Cardio Core with Margie Caldwell-Cooper
Dive in and explore the concept of re-balancing and realigning in deep water. Discover cutting edge principles of exercise design and progression by focusing on postural awareness and stability. Learn functional fitness choreography that transfers to better balance and improved performance on land. Learn new concepts and tools in aquatic “Pre-hab” to address your clients’ needs in both personal training and group exercise classes. 2.0 CECs

Deep Options with Margie Caldwell-Cooper
Hand-held buoyant and resistive equipment presents unique biomechanical and musculoskeletal challenges when used in the suspended environment of deep water. Discover, learn and experience a multitude of safe and effective exercise options for using Hand Buoys and Noodles to provide resistance, assistance and support. 2.0 CECs

Deep Training MAX with Craig Stuart
Learn creative and effective ways to optimally challenge and promote cardiovascular conditioning in deep water. Discover how to manipulate 360 degree resistance to provide increased levels of workload. Learn how to integrate core stabilization techniques and multi-plane exercise progressions to target train and all the muscles in the body while pushing fat-burning systems into high gear.

H2O Tool Box with Craig Stuart
Expand your aquatic tool box and learn new techniques, new moves and new intensity progressions in this action packed 4 X 4 session. Craig pours in equal amounts of strength training, cardio moves, core technique and flexibility training designed to quench your thirst for fresh ideas and new content. Come prepared to make waves and learn. This is an ALL PRACTICAL workshop! 2.0 CECs

Aqua Rhythms with Margie Caldwell-Cooper
Rhythm is movement, the song of our human bodies in motion. It’s equally important on land and in the water for enhancing the enjoyment of exercise. Discover how to feel, understand and move your body to music by learning how to decipher its cadences. This workshop will teach you how to create movement and choreography that truly moves to the music. 2.0 CECs

Pool Pilates with Margie Caldwell-Cooper
Learn how to integrate Pilates-inspired core training in your aquatic choreography. Improve your student’s postural alignment, core stability, and abdominal strength. Use simple equipment and water’s three-dimensional resistance and buoyancy to recruit the deepest muscle layers in the body and work them in ways that are impossible on land. Discover how to educate your students in one of the most popular trends in the fitness industry! 2.0 CECs

4:15-6:15pm
Sink or Swim Vertical Workout with Lori Templeman
Jump in and experience a multi-level workout targeting the core.  Discover how to assist and resist the effects of buoyancy in the water by varying the working position of a movement.  Suspended sequences are combined with grounded movements to develop strength and endurance.  The mixture of lifting up and grounding creates a low impact challenge for all body types. 2.0 CECs

What You Will Learn What You Will Learn
Each Academy Weekend provides quality, in-depth education in the latest aquatic fitness techniques and training. Upon successful completion, participants earn a HYDRO-FIT Specialty Certificate and Aquatic Exercise Association continuing education credits (CECs). The Academy does not offer Certification.
