HOST A HYDRO-FIT TRAINING
What is a HYDRO-FIT Training Day? It's a one-day instructor training workshop for aquatic fitness professionals. The course content focuses on education for shallow and/or deep water exercise, teaching methods for aquatic fitness and instruction techniques with specialized equipment.
Why host a training? The best reason to host a HYDRO-FIT Training is to provide your instructors and staff with quality continuing education AT YOUR FACILITY for a fraction of the cost of attending a conference or off-site training. In addition to the savings, you and your staff get to train together in a familiar environment AND you can customize the course content to meet your specific needs and goals.
What are the benefits? • Renew your enthusiasm and motivation. • Improve your teaching and become a better instructor. • Learn new training techniques, exercises and complete routines. • Get updated on the latest advances in exercise science and research • Enhance your awareness of safety and become a more effective teacher.
What's it take to be a "HOST"? When you "host" a HYDRO-FIT Training Day you and your facility assume the role of workshop organizer and host facility. You hire HYDRO-FIT to provide the presenter and the educational content. You provide the facility, promote the event, accept registrations and collect all registration fees from attendees.
What are the costs? Although there are fixed expenses, outlined below, it doesn't actually cost you anything. Matter of fact, most host facilities make a profit after their fixed expenses are paid. The key to making a workshop come out financially in your favor is in effectively promoting it to other health clubs, fitness facilities and fitness instructors in your area.
HYDRO-FIT will assist you in the marketing and promotion of your training by providing you up to 500 names & addresses on mailing labels and posting of your workshop information online at www.hydrofit.com
How does it work? A typical workshop involves five (5) contact hours of education. The schedule looks like this:
Workshop (1) 9:00 am-12:00 pm (3 contact hours = 3.0 CEC's) Workshop (2) 1:30-3:30 pm (2 contact hours = 2.0 CEC's)
We suggest you charge the following fees for attendees: Workshop 1 only - $59.00 Workshop 2 only - $49.00 Full Day - $99.00
The best day to host a workshop is Saturday (Sunday works well too). The morning session requires pool time from 10:30-12:00 pm and the afternoon session needs pool time from 2:30-3:30 pm. The other time is spent in lecture so you need to provide an appropriate room for this.
What are the costs? The workshop fee is $175.00 per contact hour. This fee includes all course materials, equipment and a certificate of completion for up to 40 participants. HYDRO-FIT workshops offer AEA Continuing Education Credits.
The other costs are travel (airfare) and lodging (hotel) expenses for the presenter. You should plan on anywhere between $350 to $500 for airfare and a minimum of one nights lodging, usually around $75-$125 per night. There can also be costs for ground transportation to and from the airport and the facility, but often the host (you) can provide transportation for the presenter.
Sample Budget: Fees and Expenses: Presenter Fee (5 X $175): $ 875.00 Presenter Travel $ 500.00 Presenter Lodging $ 125.00 Brochure Mailing (500 X $0.41) $ 200.00 Total $1,700.00
Income (typical): 20 full-day attendees @ $99 $1,980.00 5 half-day attendees @ $59 $ 295.00 5 half-day attendees @ $49 $ 245.00 Total $2,520.00
Net Profit $ 820.00
